Dave Lemasters News

Hey, here's the May, 2007 update. Since moving out to LA in September 2003, it's been quite a wild ride. We have moved no less than three times but I think we are finally settled here in Santa Clarita. Aside from the popuLAtion overload and the crazy highways -- my life as a musician has been mostly the same as far as teaching and performing. As in Ohio, I have met some amazing players and played some great gigs - though it took more than a year to find any of them! Thank goodness for those summer trips home to keep me “plugged in.” We can't make it back to Ohio this summer though because Austin is trying out for High School!! Baseball! (680 batting average) - and Braeden is cruising along with his young acting career. Michelle is still at Hull Eye Center and she got me some great sunglasses! We will be home this Christmas though as my sister, Vickie is getting married!! Looking forward to seeing the family and friends! To keep up on Braeden's projects, go to: imdb.com.

A couple gigs I have coming up this summer is one called, 'Thunder On The Lot,' a classic rock show in Lancaster, CA, and a 'Beatles,' 'Cher,' tribute show in August. Yeah, that's right - we start the show with early Beatles and Cher is in the middle -- not sure she's going to duet with George though - and then we end the show with late Beatles. 'Cher', is a real impersonator and has even been on a Leno segment. I will not be donning a Beatle wig, though we will be trying to dress up to the era. The other exciting news is that I was fortunate enough to have one of my songs from, 'Reason to Be,' included in one of Braeden's upcoming films. The movie is called, “Beautiful Loser,” and should be out sometime later this year. The song that is featured is, “I Know Better.” The movie has a favorable pre - release buzz, and will have a special screening for cast and crew in the near future. Everyone involved in the process of including my song in the movie was super nice and professional! Thanks guys and 'Gaels'!! To learn more about this movie, just search it out or go to imdb.com. It is directed by: John Nolte.

Well, that's all the big news for now - I'll keep you posted. Dave

Dave Lemasters Biography

I am a singer, guitarist, songwriter from Warren, Ohio. I have been in numerous bands over the years including, (for what i'ts worth) The Hern Brothers, 14K, Left End, Wild Life, Masterz & Johnson, The Benders (rock, dance band), Triple Play (Acoustic trio), and a special occasions type band called The Hubcaps.

I have opened up shows for such acts as: Three Dog Night, The Outlaws, BTO, The Gin Blossoms, Steppenwolf, Michael Stanley, Kansas, Bad Co, Billy Sheehan, Dennis Deyoung, Foghat, Cheap Trick, among others.

The Benders include, Jeff Draime, Dante Cerni and Bill Griffin. In Triple Play it's: Mike Baranski and Mark Baranski.

In 1996 I recorded my first CD called Songs & Maladies. It did very well on a local level. I also won an international songwriting contest (a $500.00 free ad in their newspaper). One highlight would be the unique opportunity I had to meet with Tony Bennett -- thru my friend and bandmate, Jeff Draime -- where I offered him my CD and one of my songs,"Strawberry Moon".
